Bundy to the Border

The 'Bundy to the Border' Jet Trek was another record breaking event for Variety Queensland and included 40 PWCs and 85 participants in total. Travelling over 540 kilometers down the Southern coast of Queensland, this year's Jet Trekkers experienced sunny days, overcast skies, big seas and calm waters with a crescendo finish at the picturesque location that is Kingscliff. Together, they raised an astronomical $171,000 for Queensland's special children. This amazing effort has and will continue to make a difference in the lives of many Queensland children.

The Yamaha Jet Trek is a fun-filled adrenalin packed adventure on personal water crafts. Participants will experience amazing coastline, excellent food, fun-filled themed nights and fabulous entertainment as we navigate our way through an amazing course.

There is always a Serious Side!

Like the Bash & 4WD, the Yamaha Jet Trek is staged by Variety Queensland to raise much needed funds to assist bringing about an improved quality of life for children in need throughout Queensland.

Variety Jet Trekkers raise money for special children by not only having fun on the open water, but also visiting a number of different schools along the way and experiencing first-hand how rewarding it is to FUNdraise.

Funds raised by these adrenalin junkies are utilised to purchase mobility and educational equipment for individual children and facilities, Sunshine Coaches, and Liberty Swings for communities.

Bargara to Rainbow Beach

After first being treated to breakfast by the Burnett Heads State School, Jet Trekkers made a Beeline to the water! Heading South from Burnett Heads to Rainbow Beach the morning ride conquered the open water, giving Trekkers the chance to test out their skis and skills in the surf. Jet Trekkers recuperated with lunch at the Hervey Bay Boat Club at Urangan Marina. The afternoon saw a ride through the protected waters between the main land and Fraser Island. Hervey Bay waters usually make for fast skiing on glassy water however Trekkers faced choppy conditions and 15kn-20kn winds. Luckily our helicopter pilot Chris was able to help those Trekkers with temperamental PWCs. Once thing that is consistent is the pristine and beautiful coastline. Jet Trekkers were given the chance to take a timeout and soak up the sun, surf and sand on the QLD coast.

Rainbow Beach to Noosa North Shore

With Noosa as the overnight destination, Jet Trekkers set off from Rainbow Beach and waved goodbye to the students of the Rainbow Beach State School. Heading through open waters, the Trekkers battled some choppy water and the more adventurous enjoyed the swell with some impressive wave jumping. All road crews were treated to a gorgeous coastline drive and met the Trekkers for a lunch on the beach. The sights of the spectacular coloured sands near Rainbow Beach, and the pristine coastline all the way down to Noosa were highlights on day 2. Dinner and accommodation was held at the Noosa North Shore Resort, with a "Margaritaville Pool Party" by the resort pool after dinner.

 Bribie Island to Tangalooma

An easy day in beautiful Moreton Bay and a great opportunity for all riders to let their road crew enjoy a little fun with them on the water!!! Jet Trekkers packed their "Survivor" style gear as all participants and road crew headed to the lovely resort of Tangalooma. With a boat available for those that don't want to go by PWC, Day four of the Jet Trek was a relaxing day for all.  Tangalooma to Seaworld

This was the longest day on the Jet Trek. Beautiful weather made for great skiing in Moreton Bay and a fast cruise with a Fish n Chip lunch awaiting participants on the beach at Cleveland Point. The afternoon ride flirted with the Stradbroke Island coastline as Jet Trekkers made their way to the Gold Coast. A pool party was set up and ready to kick off when the riders arrived. With this being the penultimate night for Trekkers, the pool party went well into the night as Trekkers began to relive the event through story and laughter. Some stories and accounts may or may not have included hyperbole!
